What was your favorite sitcom as a child, and would / do you still watch it if possible?

"Bewitched"  Yes, I'd still get a kick out of it.

As a child, "On The Buses" was one of my favourites. I now have all episodes on DVD and I watched a few of them last weekend.

I really loved TGIF. Which was a string of shows on Friday. I remember Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, and Just the 10 of Us. I thought it was funny back then. I doubt I would think it is funny now. They were so corny.

  • Several.  'Porridge' is a work of greatness and possibly surpasses even 'Fawlty Towers'.  'Blackadder' is also a favourite - all four series of them.

It still is hilarious after more than 40 years. There were seven series of half-hour episodes and three feature-length movies. Sadly, most of the original cast are dead now.

Punky Brewster. *Sigh* I haven't seen that show in decades, but her amazing fashion sense still influences me today. ;)

It's not surprising I became a fan of Clarissa Explains it All a few years down the line. She had the same eye for style.

Oh I loved watching the reruns of "I love Lucy" when I was a kid. It is still my favorite today.

  • I think I was a little young to appreciate rising damp at the time, but I can see Rossiter's performance for the brilliant piece of work it was.

Just remembered 'The Good Life' as a favourite, but that might have been down to Felicity Kendal.  :)

  • I would say Seinfeld, but I don't think I was technically a "child" when it first aired. I'm going to pick Family Ties. This was when Michael J. Fox was super popular, having been in this show and Back To The Future. I also liked Cheers and Night Court. I think they were all on the same night at one point.

I really don't watch those shows now, except Seinfeld if it is on. I watched the whole series recently on Hulu. I'll probably watch it again in a year or two.
