Not everyone has a good "bedside manner". Not everyone you encounter is charming/delightful. He/she still can perform jobs in a way that will be suitable and practical and helpful. Personality aside what percent of those you trust to do a good job is due to being "likable"? Of course it's preferable to LIKE those you support but how necessary/essential is it that you do LIKE as long as they "perform well" for you?
