If I can't see or hear about it, then it can't hurt me or it doesn't exist.
Some people take the approach of a little child - 'if I close my eyes you can't see me'. If they stick their heads in the sand then all is well. Some spread lies and rumors in an attempt to malign or discredit the source. If they can get enough people to believe their falsehoods, the source will be forced to shut up or face ridicule and rejection. Some are so sickened by hearing lies and seeing stupidity day after day after day, that if they don't "tune out" they'll go mad. A very few refuse to allow others or the media (TV, radio, internet, etc.) to tell them how to think or act. They are in control of their lives, not talking heads or faceless voices. They prefer to think for themselves.
Thank you for your reply Shuhak. So much for freedom of speech. Those with power to control what is disseminated use it badly...maybe all of the time. None of us likes to hear certain stuff. But to silence people and shut them off shut them up because of it? I will tell you that I am shocked stunned and saddened that there are so many millions of people whose lives are driven by FEAR and HATE. They are rigid and incapable of thinking for themselves so they will cleave unto anyone with any agenda who will SAVE THEM. Rotten SOB's the lot of them. In my opinion. But well as that great philosophress Doris Day said Que sera sera. Right? How do you fight that? Thank you for your reply! :)
