Eventually your "best" will be bested by others. You will be eclipsed and replaced and lose your status.
I can only imagine how hard that must be. Tiger Woods is probably the very best golfer ever. But his last outing I think he ended at 10 over par. He is 42 and still young but others who are younger are simply better.
If any of you have ever been "best" once upon a time at anything was it very hard for you when someone came around who was "better"? Or did you take it in stride having been very well satisfied with your time in the sun and didn't mind moving on?
