An 11-year-old Idaho little girl aged 11 carried an AR15 into a hearing on gun legislation. She had it slung over her shoulder. Impressed?

She said nary a word. Just stood there beside her grandfather who did all the speaking.

Taking a kid and using her like that is fine and dandy or despicable?

Do you USE your kids like that for political punch?

How young? A 4-year-old with a kidsized AR 15 slung over the shoulder is fine and dandy?

How many of you ADMIRE grandpa for using her like a prop?

    If it was legal there....no does not bother me. The laws they pass/fail will effect her as well.

    Technically, there is no age limit on the Bill of Rights.
    So she has just as much a Second Amendment Right as any adult.

    Wisdom-ly ... I wouldn't give a firearm to anybody (child or adult) who wasn't trained in basic firearm safety.
    So - I'm wondering if there was a magazine inserted, and if the charging handle was pulled back (to show there was not a round chambered).

    As to the question of using children - both sides do it, and I find it annoying.
    Though not as much as I used to.
    Sure, children are usually unable to understand fully politics ... but let's face it, so are too many adults.  Including those doing whatever demonstration/protest.

    A grandfather USING HIS GRANDAUGHTER? If that doesn't suck bigtime I don't know what does Walt. I think is it UNCONSCIONABLE to put little kids in such situations and make them be part of the adults boxing who argue all the time about this and that which is all BULLSH**! ADULTS who love their children are supposed to PROTECT them. How does flinging into the area do that? Sorry pal but no sale. Thank you for your reply Walt! :)

    As I pointed out to Nanoose, it's common for adults to use children this way.
    I see it every year, where teachers use their students this way.
    (one reason I distrust public school teachers.  using other people's children as political pawns.)

    As I said, I find it annoying regardless of which side is using the child(ren).

    The media is partially to blame.  They cover stories on "children protesters" as if there aren't any adults behind the scenes "guiding" the children.

    It blows my mind that it's legal for a 11 year old child to carry a weapon like that. What I'm wondering is was this hearing on gun legislation on a school day - a 11 year old child  should/needs be in school instead of being used by a grandfather to push his point of view. Cheers!

    It's quite common to take children out of school, to push a political agenda.
    Heck, even teachers encourage students to leave school to go to demonstrations when they want more money ... and the school district sometimes supplies school buses.
