    Butter in the jelly would definitely annoy me more.

    Butter in the jelly.  The butter goes faster with the toast crumbs than the jelly being screwed up by the butter.

    I would have zero tolerance for anything like that!  Seriously.  I can't stand that kind of thing.  Also, when a bottle of something is used from the refrigerator or cabinet, the lid and top of the jar/bottle  gets washed before it goes back into its resting place.  I'm a fanatic about this.

    I agree. It really doesn't take much effort to wipe off those tops or the knife before going into the butter.

    For me, each product gets it's own knife.  I would never wipe butter from a knife and use it for the jam.
