Do we undervalue or overvalue others? What about ourselves? Why?

I think we tend to undervalue others and REALLY undervalue ourselves.

We like to think we can do everything ourselves.  Independence!  In doing so we fail to see that we need others in our lives.  We need their help at times, their advice or wisdom as we can't do everything by ourselves.

People are very good at undervaluing themselves.  Yes, some people overvalue themself (and I'm sure you can cite examples), but most don't.

Among the citings is the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. But how do you account for the arrogant "true believers" whose views they believe are always right and the views of "the other" with whom they disagree are always wrong Shuhak? Isn't that a huge overvaluing of themselves by definition? I dunno. It's complicated. You have the dumb don adoring worshippiers believing the lies he tells. The truth is available for the seeking but they IGNORE it all the time. Don't they overvalue their own minds brains in their rigid beliefs that the dumb of don is a good man doing good things for a good purpose? At least that's the schtick and spin they promulgate. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)
