How, if at all, have you changed your lifestyle due to COVID 19? I know some of you are your 70's. Any in their 80's like me?

I've always been a homebody so my lifestyle really hasn't changed much. Jim used to go out putzing around doing "guy" stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot or Harbor freight just to see what they had that was new. Or Costco too.  Not "NEEDING" anything in particular. He stopped doing that. So he's at home more which I kinda like. Also though when we'd go out to do errands or marketing I wouldn't cook when we got home. We'd do takeout. We stopped that too so I'm cooking every day now. No biggie. I LOVE to cook. What about you? Any changes yet or are you still waiting?

I haven't changed my lifestyle much if any.  I never went out much to begin with, I hate shopping and avoid it like plague (no pun intended), and I always wash my hands a lot (a habit left over from being around germaphobes most of my life).  I'm not in the elderly category (although I just found out that several establishments now categorize me as a senior citizen), but I do have asthma (being short of breath is normal).

You have ASTHMA Shuhak? My SINCERE Condolences. A couple of decades ago I got what seemed to be ASTHMA which lasted maybe 6 months. Then it went away. I got diagnosed and got an inhaler which I never seemed to operate right timing-wise. I slept in a chair upright in the living room because I couldn't lie down and still breathe. It was TERRIFYING for me when I experienced that. My ex-daughter in law had Asthma so bad sometimes my son had to rush her to the Emergency Room. Also the ex-wife of my son's best friend had asthma too and he had the same kind of experiences. It's a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE disease. I have an idea of what caused it in me though I can't be certain. Jim and I used to eat peanuts in the shell and we'd go through 5 lbs a week...no joke. I think I developed an allergy to them and that was what triggered it. After it went away for years I stayed away from peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil... anything peanutty. Now I sometimes have a bit of each with no reaction. When they say "MODERATION IS A GOOD THING" they are not joking. Thank you for your reply. Do you know what the trigger was for you?

I've heard that peanuts can cause a lot of problems with people, at any point in their life.

My trigger was stress.  I've had the tendency towards asthma since I was born.  It just never became too severe.  However, my last job finally "put me over the top".  I was breaking down the load at work, when suddenly I couldn't breathe.  I assumed it was due to the perfume the coworker helping me was wearing (I have many allergies), so I immediately ran out the front door to get fresh air.  I sat there at the entrance of the store gasping for air (and no, no one paid even the least bit of attention).  After a bit, the attack subsided; which enhanced my belief it was due to perfume.  The attacks became more frequent - even when no one was wearing perfume or I was alone in the store.  The doctor diagnosed me with stress-induced asthma.  Now anytime I get stressed, I have an asthma attack - even in my sleep (stressful dreams?).

Another connection we have Shuhak. I cannot tolerate perfume toilet water cologne or after-shave lotion. They all make me NAUSEATED. Years ago I could wear perfume or cologne IN MODERATION but somewhere along the line I became negatively affected by it. Maybe it was AFTER the "asthma" experience. I never thought much about it. I don't like to smell people coming or going and I especially don't like to be in their presence. It's a physical reaction over which I have zero control. Now a mildly fragrant hand lotion is fine. My favorite fragrance is non-scented SOAP which is to say I don't want to inhale anything while I"m taking a shower. except unscented air. Not shampoo that is hugely performed or conditioner or body soap. SIGH. I wonder how many of us there are like that? As for stress how do you stay away from IT? Stress lurks in every corner and over every hill and you never get a warning sign. It just SHOWS UP OUT OF NOWHERE and you're stuck. Thank you for your reply! :)

I know, stress is a part of everyday life.  Through much therapy, I have learned several stress-reducing techniques, such as, breathing, focus, meditation, and partial/full body relaxation.  They're not 100% successful in all situations, but they do help.

I went out last weekend to run some errands, but for the most part, I stayed indoors.  I went to work as usual - same this week.  I've been home the past day and today because my sciatica has kicked up and there's nothing I need to go out for, not because of the virus.  I have an appointment to get by taxes done on Monday and it's near a supermarket, so I'll do my food shopping then and come home.
