Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Didn't we see/hear Bill Clinton play a saxophone on the Arsenio Hall show decades ago? Any other president play a musical instrument?
Richard Nixon played the accordion and piano. He played second violin in his high school orchestra. He even wrote a concerto (Richard Nixon Piano Concerto #1), which he played on the Jack Paar Program in 1963.
“My choice early in life was either to be a piano-player in a whorehouse, or a politician. And to tell the truth, there’s hardly any difference,” said Truman. Although he didn’t play the piano for a living, he never lost his love for the instrument and played for the rest of his life.
Calvin Coolidge also played the harmonica.
Warren G Harding once said that he “played every instrument but the slide trombone and the E-flat cornet.” He organized the Citizen’s Cornet Band, which played at rallies for both the Democratic and Republican Parties.
Woodrow Wilson played the violin.
Chester Arthur played the banjo. (cue "Dueling banjo" music)
Lincoln played the violin.
Tyler played the violin.
John Quincy Adams played the flute.
Jefferson loved to sing and there are reports that he played the violin, clavichord, and cello.
Who knew? Now I do Walt and I thank you. What I remember about Truman was his defending his daughter Margaret for her singing or piano playing after she was criticizes in some way. Also for "the buck stops here". Happy Wednesday. So is your life being impacted not at all, a little or a lot these days? Stay safe! :)
Et tu Megan? That's by far the best photo I've ever seen of dumb don. Of course it must have been taken a bazillion decades ago. Thank you for your reply Bob and Happy Wednesday to you! :)
I think you know I have no idea what that is E. Maybe it's better left unexplained? Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday. How are things in Toledo? Stay safe! :)
