The President placed a travel ban on China very early. Was called racist.
Ordered test kits. CDC tests were producing false positives not because of contamination but because they made the test more broad than it needed to be. So we had to recall and start over on the tests. We have fixed that and more tests are on the way. We are allowing some private labs to create their own tests (CDC will verify results) We instituted a new travel ban from EU where our new cases were coming from. (Again called names and said attacking allies)
Trump has acted. Earlier than expected. The original test was a screw up. But we are fixing it.
In the meantime, follow the same guidelines for influenza.
