How sweet the soundThat saved a wretch like me!I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.Through many dangers, toils, and snares,I have already come;’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,And grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me,His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be,As long as life endures.Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,And mortal life shall cease,I shall possess, within the veil,A life of joy and peace. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,The sun forbear to shine; But God, who called me here below,Will be forever mine. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,Bright shining as the sun,We’ve no less days to sing God’s praiseThan when we’d first begun. less

I did say that people need to stop blaming others and take responsibility for their own actions. On the same hand though, the politicians also need to stop passing the blame off onto the people for their own inadequate and inept handling of the virus in the first place. There was a whole lot of confusion when this all started. Everyone was caught off guard. The fault also lies with everyone involved. It lies with the people, the government, the medical establishment, the manufacturers of medical supplies, the distributors of said supplies, etc. As I said, "people" need to take responsibility for their own actions. less

Fact is, the federal death penalty was reinstated by the U... more Fact is, the federal death penalty was reinstated by the US Supreme Court in 1988. So what crimes did these people commit that called for the death penalty? In July 2019, Bill Barr announced the scheduled executions of five death row prisoners. The selected inmates had been convicted of murdering or raping children and the elderly. Here are three examples of people who were executed and why. Alfred Bourgeois was on death row for torturing and beating his two-year-old daughter to death. Lisa Montgomery strangled a pregnant woman in Missouri before cutting out and kidnapping the baby in 2004. Cory Johnson was convicted for the murder of seven people, related to his involvement with the drug trade in Richmond, Virginia. Obviously, there are many more cases that could be cited. Cases where men, women, and children were tortured, raped, murdered, and in some cases cannibalized. So let me ask you something, do you believe that those people should have had their death sentences commuted? Or ... less

Is that Trumps fault too? Or is it due to the incompetence of the state's politicians and policies? This whole blame game circus has gotten out of control. There comes a time when people need to stop blaming others for their own shortcomings and to take responsibility for their own actions.

God already sent His Son Jesus for that. (John 3:16-17; John 14:6) Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. Do I believe Trump's election was God's will? I have entertained that thought but I can't say with absolute certainty that it was. In light of that, God has and does use people to accomplish His will. We may not always know right away what His will is in certain circumstances but His plan will be carried out nonetheless. Then at the appointed time, God will reveal His plan. less

As a student of American history, I know full well how the blacks suffered under the yoke of slavery though I could never comprehend how they felt because I didn't walk in their shoes. My answer was meant more for the historical meaning of the Confederate flag and what it came to mean for the South and for others not associated with the Confederacy. It was in no way meant to marginalize slavery and the crimes associated with it. I was born and grew up in the second-largest city in Michigan. Our neighborhood consisted of people from almost all ethnic backgrounds. To me, they weren't black, white, Hispanic, or anything else. They were simply my friends, neighbors, and playmates. So when I got into junior high where I began studying American history one could imagine how shocked I was to find out to what extent people from a certain ethnic background, were persecuted. We had black students in high school as well as exchange students from different countrie... less

Obviously, the Confederate flag continues to generate con... more Obviously, the Confederate flag continues to generate controversy and impassioned debates with implications for the First Amendment. First a bit of history. I love American history. The flag most commonly displayed as representing the Confederacy is the Beauregard battle flag, also known as the Southern Cross. This flag was widely used by Southern troops during the Civil War, but "it was never officially adopted by the Confederacy". The appropriation of the Confederate flag by white supremacist organizations, such as the Ku Klux Klan, makes the debate over it particularly emotional. Some people view the flag as a symbol celebrating racism and regard the use of Confederate symbols in state flags or their display on state property as offensive; to other individuals, it represents Southern heritage, and they assert their right to display the flag of the Confederate South wherever they like. That being said, the Supreme Court, while allowing the removal of the Confederate fl... less

His policies did a lot of positive things for America. Much to the dismay of the liberal left. Now that Socialist Biden and Communist Harris are going to step into the office that they stole, all of the good Trump did, will be reversed/voided by the far-left anti-American anti-Constitutional Socialist and Communist agendas they bring with them. Nancy Pelosi is paving their way by destroying the separation of powers with her farce of a second impeachment. An impeachment report that doesn't contain an iota of evidence. What's really discouraging about this is that some of the Republicans capitulated and put their stamp of approval on Pelosi's circus act. And along with the liberal-left, these Republicans are to be blamed for their part in this insurrectionist act. less

How is it and why are we who supported impeachment ... more How is it and why are we who supported impeachment the ones who guilty of DIVIDING THE COUNTRY? Well, neither impeachment proceedings had a leg to stand on from the get-go. No actual real evidence was ever produced that would necessitate an impeachment. To bring about impeachment without hard evidence to back it up would be considered an unconstitutional act. Which, in and of itself has helped cause more of a divide in this country than it already had. So if there was no evidence that proved Trump was guilty of anything that warranted impeachments, what was the real reason behind them? What is it called when actions, such as these unwarranted and unfounded impeachments, cause this much discontent and division in a country? I'll give you a hint. Sedition: incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government. any action, especially in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion. less

Whose policies were as close to ours as possible. The thing is though, even though we voted differently we rarely had any heated discussions about politics. And we never asked each other how we voted. My dad was a working-class die-hard straight-ticket Democrat. As were some of my other working-class relatives if I remember correctly. I'm a working-class individual and I never automatically voted Republican. For that matter, I never automatically voted Democrat either. I have always voted on policies, not political party affiliation. less

Politicians are elected positions and, as such, are considered public servants whose duty it is to represent the interests of their constituents. Unfortunately, many of our public servants are now trying to hammer their constituents into submission by whatever means they feel is necessary. At one time, the politicians had much respect for the citizens who voted them into office. I wish I could say the same about them today. To be fair, there are some who actually respect and care for the citizens and the welfare of the country as a whole but they are few in number. less

Legally, it is difficult to identify a false opinion, although courts are consistently called upon to weigh factual evidence in both civil and criminal cases. Of course, we also have "original intent". What was the original intent of the Framers when they crafted the Constitution and the Amendments? I personally believe that one needs to read and study the Constitution "as a whole" to find that out. Unfortunately, most people haven't or won't do that. Ins... less

Social media platforms are actively suppressing stories that expose the misdeeds of influential liberals. That said, suppressing conservative speech and viewpoints is a serious issue that everyone should be concerned about, regardless of their political party. Just because you disagree with someone’s point of view doesn’t give you the right to censor their speech. When the Founders drafted the Bill of Rights, they didn’t intend for the privilege of free speech to only apply to one political party or popular ideas. Our Constitution allows us the freedom of speech and expression for everyone. Sadly, big tech companies are trampling on our rights and censoring our speech. less

At that same instant this Jan. 20, 2021 date arrives, the country will have a new chief executive. Maybe. It all depends on what happens between now and then. The framers of the Constitution did not establish a specific day that presidential terms end, but they were very clear that the president “shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years.” (22nd Amendment) Not four years and a day. A right which shall not be infringed. The Second Amendment was easily accepted because of widespread agreement that the federal government should not have the power to infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms, any more than it should have the power to abridge the freedom of speech or prohibit the free exercise of religion. The gun laws today are much more extensive and controversial. And in far too many cases, unconstitutional. Unfortunately, the First Amendment is getting the same unconstitutional treatment. less
