When you were a young child, what did you want to do with your life? Did you meet your expectations?

  • I wanted to travel the world and I wanted to teach. I am a teacher, so I fulfilled that part of the dream, but I haven't done as much traveling as I would like to have done by this point. There is time still to do it, though.

    My imaginary goal was to travel and explore 'deepest darkest' Africa, meet and establish friendships with the native peoples and discover huge stashes of hidden treasures.

    I had been reading books by H.Rider Haggard a lot at the time.

    "Young child" is redundant. There's no such thing as an old child. An older person is no longer a child.

      A 90-year-old man has a 70-year-old child, a 50-year-old grandchild, a 30-year-old great grandchild, a 10-year-old great great grandchild, and a year-old great great grandchild. It’s not incorrect to refer to the adults as adult children and differentiate by referring to the youngest two as young children.

    As a young child, I wanted to be an artist. As an older child (teens), I wanted to be an accountant. 

    I currently paint almost daily. And do my own bookkeeping and taxes for my retail manufacturing business.

    When I was young I wanted to be an author. Though I wrote several short stories and began a sci-fi novel, nothing ever became of it. I slowly lost interest for various reasons. So that expectation was never met. :)
