I slid the mop over the floor this morning.

Made me homesick for my good old days in the Navy: 'swabbing the deck'.

You still have a "slide" card? I tap mine.

And? Lots of people use the tap option, and lots of people use the slide option. Each one is personal choice. You’re not suggesting that you’re better than someone else because you make a choice that’s different than theirs, are you?

Did I say that, or even imply it? Don't jump salty. I don't know too many people who bother with sliding is all. I know more people who refuse to use a debit/ATM card altogether, my mother was one. Cash or cheque only, withdrawals were made at the bank with a passbook.

Again, Don't Jump Salty. Tapping is easier. Faster. I still key PIN for transactions over $100, that's required. I wasn't chucking asparagus at Spunky. She's not complaining.

Pal, you can’t truly say it comes as a complete surprise to you that you sometimes have show an attitude of looking down your nose at others. If it has never been made known to you in your everyday life beyond these pages, then it’s possible that you only do it here on this website. If the latter is true, keep in mind that my only contact with you is here, you have shown how holier-than-thou you can be on numerous occasions. Being called out on it ruffles your feathers, but don’t expect me to back down. There is absolutely no other inference that can be made from what you wrote:

Don’t worry, mate, it’s not the first time you’ve used the condescending approach, so when it came up yet again, it’s easy to see it for the par-for-the-course angle that it is. Trying to backtrack on the Boy Scout defense doesn’t fit you at all.

Do you DELIBERATELY misread me sometimes? I. Wasn't. Being. Condescending. (I'm not a skydiving jailbird, lol).

Randy, I didn't take offense at Slartibartfast's comment.  Even assuming I was "into" tapping my card, Walmart Supermarket's card readers only allow you to slide the chip end in or slide the magnetic strip down the side.  There are still a lot of stores that have those machines.  Usually, the coffee shops (Starbucks, Dunkin, etc.) and the 24-hour stores have the tap ability.

Thank you, SpunkySenior. I responded to him on my own view of what he wrote, I did not want it to seem as if I put words in your mouth.  Additionally, I stand by every word I wrote, just as he stands by every word he wrote.

A new mattress.  2 hours ago I slid it out of my truck bed, carried it into the house, then slid it onto the bed platform.  Its currently undergoing a complete cat scan and assessment.  Depending on the results, I may be allowed to use it.
