Per an Answermug pal gas prices in Toledo are UNDER $1.90/gallon. In Hemet we're LUCKY to pay only $3.15/gallon. What do you pay?

Where do you live?

So how much will lower gas prices do for you? Where can you drive these days besides a pharmacy a grocery store?

Ah, to be so fortunate.  Gasoline here is currently $3.39/gal.   That's the lowest it's been in quite a while.  It's usually between $4.39 and $4.99 per gallon.

If it gets low enough I'll finally be able to fill up my truck.  $50 barely got me half a tank.  Of course I don't really want to touch those germy pump handles.  Due to rampant skimming one dare not pay at the pump.  That means having to walk into the mini-mart and stand in a cramped line between the Icee machines and the soda coolers with dozens of germy people - twice.

Unless you're super-fit, you just about have to drive everywhere around here!  Even our bi-cyclists are super-fit.  This is rural, hill country.  80% of our medical facilities are situated atop the highest peak in the area (providing a stunning a panoramic view of the hospital sitting at its base).

True there is no place to drive right now.  Just our 3 cinemas remain open (but with limited ticket sales so people can sit further apart in the seats), as well as all medical facilities, pharmacies, stores and gas stations.  Once this rain/snow passes, people here are going to go stir crazy.

People like us (thee and me) are lucky Shuhak. We're homebodies. Loners. So engaging with people and going out and about eager to be among them is not our normal cuppa tea. That part is the easy part for us. Jim's friend (via phone) said when he went to Walmart yesterday morning about 8am shelves were empty. I don't know what he was going to purchase. We go to Walmart on Tuesday and we'll be there when it opens at 6am. If shelves are empty oh well. I'm paring down my list to get just what we need and if whatever that may be is unavailable we'll just figger something out. But maybe by then they will have stocked up again. I read that the "supply chain" is still good. Products are still available and being manufactured as usual. How long that will last I don't know of course. It's just that I guess people are buying A LOT! Don't know how long this will last but I"m guessing it will be a few months. SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)

Even when I worked I only bought gas once a month.  Now its like twice a year.

The virus gives me a legitimate excuse not to go to the store (I hate shopping and I don't like people).  I'm going to try and survive off what I have here in the house.  My sister says she'll go to the store for everyone when needed so as to limit everyone's exposure.
