627 deaths in one day in ITALY even though it has been totally locked down for over a week. Does that bode ill for US states?

The picture we have today reflects what happened 15 days ago. Allegedly it will take 2,3 or 4 weeks before that lockdown will have any appreciable effect.

The potential for death in California was allegedly half the population or 20 million. How long before the LOCKDOWN shows up in California or New York?

Why hasn't the HOAX MANDATED A COUNTRYWIDE LOCKDOWN?

Your news is inaccurate.  The governor did NOT say half the population would die, rather that (roughly half) would become infected.  Being infected with the virus is NOT an automatic death sentence.

Italy has massive death because they have an aging population.  In fact, Italy has the second oldest population in the world (coming in just behind Japan).

It isn't surprising that Italy has fared so badly when you consider how easily this virus is transmitted and that those who have no symptoms may be infecting others without realizing it.  By the time they quarantined the country, the virus was in full swing.  As usual, even in the most dire circumstances, there is a silver lining.  The water in Venice's canals is clear enough for fish to be seen in them and Italians are serenading everyone from their balconies. :)

Also the air is clean and clear! I expect that will happen in California too and New York and now Illinois. I wonder how many state Governors will be bold enough to lock their states down? Thank you for your reply L! :)

I am very impressed with your Governor L. My sister who lives in Nevada and I email regularly and she is also very impressed. Compare what he does/says with the HOAX and well there is no comparison. Why do news outlets even cover the HOAX? He lies. Pence lies. Every day they lie and every day the adoring worshippers can be in jeopardy just listening to those lies. A new blackout where the HOAX is concerned would be a public service. Of course HOAX would undoubtedly pull their broadcasting licenses. Thank you for your reply L and Happy Sunday! :)

I think Gov. Cuomo is doing an excellent job.  He gave an update on TV this morning and spoke for almost an hour telling us what the state is doing, what plans are in the pipeline, what he needs from the federal government and how he expects us to stay in our own homes as much as possible.  He was very honest about what may happen.  Our biggest problem is the need for additional hospital beds and facilities and hospital supplies - masks, gowns, respirators.  He is encouraging businesses that can switch to manufacturing what we need to step up and do it.  We have a garment center here in NYC which used to be much more robust before so much of that business was sent to China, but they are still able to make masks and gowns and, hopefully, they can respond in a major way.  Respirators, which are in very short supply, are not as easy to manufacture, so I'm not sure how easy it will be for, let's say, car manufacturing plants to switch over to making respirators.  If nothing else, when this crisis is over, this country should learn the lesson that we cannot depend on other countries to provide what we need in an emergency of this sort.  I suspect that an outbreak like this will not take another 50-60 years to appear and we need to be prepared.  Happy Sunday. :)

I heard that HOAX has activated The National Guard. I wonder what they do? Arrest people who are out and about? I'm gonna try to find out. We are virtual prisoners at home. Here's what I don't understand. Some folks are going out and about as if nothing has changed. What's wrong with them anyway? Wonder if the DJI will take another plunge today? I don't see what good there is to cause anyone to want to buy anything since we don't know how far down it will plunge on a given day. Of course we don't know if could soar. That's is weird don't you think L? Why would anyone gamble today on any stock that has lost much of its value? I understand why certain sectors are booming of course. Maybe it's only those stocks that folks are buying. Any buckle m'dear buckle up. Oh. You probably never unbuckled since New York was locked down.

I think the National Guard was activated to bring supplies to various places.  They may also be helping to set up triage areas around hospitals and help with those drive through testing sites that are being set up.

I don't see the Dow rising much in the next few weeks, but if you're looking for a traditionally blue chip stock at a better price, now is the time to buy.  The idea is to buy low and, if you can wait, sell high.  Not sure that anything is "soaring" these days, but that can't last forever.  It wouldn't surprise me if the medical sector climbs nicely when this is all said and done.

Today is raining and gloomy, so I'm not unhappy to be indoors.  The magnolia tree outside my windows is blooming and it looks very pretty, so there's something to look forward to.  If it's nice tomorrow, I may just go out for a walk because I need the exercise more than anything else.  A couple of times around the block should do it.  Not many people out on the streets where I am and very few cars.  For the most part, people are obeying the shelter in place restrictions.  Happy Monday. :)
