I suppose it depends on what you mean by problem. In some ways Jesus was quite a problem everywhere he went. However, they couldn't find anything really wrong with him. So in the end the elite, the influential and the ruling classes bore false witness against him to get rid of him, or as Matthew 26:59 puts it, “Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death”
