Can a hypnotist change one's personality altogether? If HOAX were "put under" could he be reprogrammed to be a good president?

From what I read ... decades ago ... a person can't be compelled under hypnotism, to violate any principles they wouldn't normally be willing to violate.

EG: If a person isn't willing to commit murder, you can't make them do it while hypnotized.

Of course, normal "brainwashing" doesn't require hypnotism ... just time.
