How do I type a Private Message to a specific member in this answer site?

    You go to the member's profile page and click on "Send Message" under their avatar. 

    You do have to be Friends with the user. So you may have to send a Friend request first and wait until the user accepts the request.  (Friend Request is also on the user's profile page under the avatar)
