Will people end up rebelling against the quarantine if it goes too long?

Maybe, our  Prime Minister said in one of his press conferences last week that life wouldn’t return to normal for Canadians until there is a vaccine. And that that is likely 18 months away. I’m not doing this self isolating shizzat for another 18 months, that’s ridiculous.

I think yes. At some point, desperation is inevitable. Able, idle, working people drowning in accumulating debts, under threat of losing their homes, missing important life events, no healthcare, and frustrated out of their minds, because they aren’t allowed to earn a living, WILL rise up or break out to protect their own interests.

We shouldn’t dismiss the worst possible scenarios. Civil unrest, economic depression, rioting, even anarchy. I live in a country where a crazy lot of people have guns.

Civilization as we know it can’t be frozen in place indefinitely. It can rise back up or it could collapse. Just saying.

That's the worry isn't it... already some aren't doing what they should.... It's hard.. people aren't used to just staying in their home.. there are implications...

Yes!  People do not like being controlled.

I'm not sure if it's a matter of being controlled or confined. :)

Controlled as in, "don't tell me what I can and can't do".

I understand.  Hopefully, we will get past the worse of it by the end of the month and we'll be on the upswing after that.

It's already happening. About 200 half-wits here decided to have a block party with no regard for public safety. There was even gunfire. 5 were arrested. I imagine half of our North end will get infected now.

I believe so.  You can only keep people confined to their homes for so long before they need to get out and move around.  I felt that way today after a month if being indoors except for two short food runs.  Very early this morning, I got in the car and took a drive and did some food shopping along the way.  When I got home, I sat out in front of my building in the sun for about half an hour talking with one of the maintenance men and then came upstairs.  It felt really good to air out!

Trump has to allow people to go back to work.  Folks are hungry and need the income.  If he doesn't there will be mayhem in the streets, looting etc. Everyone is right on the edge based on the lines for food which is also running out.

With the actions like those of the Greenville, MS police, yes.  Desantis, the governor here in Florida called for a stay-home order but said he wasn't going to have troopers stopping every car on the road to see why it was moving.  Many Churches had services today with people sitting in their cars, many feet apart.  Common sense should rule; too bad it is in short supply.
