I am afraid it's not possible to have it both ways..one cannot on one hand say we aren't having your goods here, while on the other saying, but we want to send out stuff to you to buy. PS 3rd world country is not the same as the expression Trump used, partly because many of these so-called 3rd world countries aren't controlled by dictators... .  less

Many countries world-wide are not happy with Israel for that, but America, via Trump especially feel that's perfectly fine and has sought to persuade other Arab  nations to stop shunning/punishing/wanting nothing to do with Israel. This is not a peace deal, it is for America's interests. And if it's trade talks then it's not peace talks is it? It's certainly not this wonderful nobel peace prize winning effort is it? Indeed many feel quite the opposite. Everyone is perfectly entitled to their opinion of the Palestinians of course but it's important to remember that what many people have heard and been lead to believe is generally speaking  only one side of it and in fact the Palestinians are pretty sure that Israel could have peace whenever 'they' want it if only Israel were to take the offers they have been giv...    less

To be fair, since their determination that there was fraud despite the evidence being non-existent is illogical - who can say what they will do - they are clearly not in touch with reality and their behaviour is unreasoning.

The way we seem to feel we have to review everything these days,...  moreThe way we seem to feel we have to review everything these days, from toilet paper to tech... it occurred to me, as things do, that perhaps we worry too much about what reviews say? But this time, it was more like a 2 as it was messy and not well put together, misshapen too. Yet, it was the same fudge cake.... Perhaps it's just me who has these strange thoughts?   less

The final element of the qualification was a final externally assessed assignment - marked by an examiner. I had my last assignment referred, (i.e. failed!) 2x and only passed on the 3rd attempt. Herein lies my dilemma - I KNOW that my first submission should have passed, I met the criteria! And the reasons they claimed it didn't meet the criteria were spurious and unsupportable and I also have evidence of inconsistent/unfair marking, e.g. a friend showed me her submission where she passed a question I didn't pass even though she had less explanation and 'concepts' and I passed one she didn't even though both our logs were identical in format.. I tackled this at the time by literally giving them what they wanted.. regardless of whether I thought they were wrong, 2nd submission failed on again a very debatable point, a matte...    less

Like when I was younger, (many, many years ago!) I had punk, new romance, pop, two-tone, these were all regularly in the charts and played on the radio, along with some 50's and 60's music. There were one or two American country artists known, but that was about it.  Now we have access to zillions of artists, groups, different genres .. and I wonder if we are, if anything, less tolerant of different kinds of music? What got me thinking was that someone in my house was playing a video game and it had music. My son commented on the terrible taste of music. I thought, hmm but someone must have thought it was great because they chose it...  I'd never heard of the music before..   less

We must not forget how his cosying up to North Korea et al made Trump into a laughing stock by those same countries.. I am afraid too many people see only what they want to see and ignore the rest.

This means that they must not only act good when they are doing their job but that there is an expectation re their behaviour outside of when they are working.. they are a trusted profession.  They are high profile in a way that a truck driver or factory worker aren't.. It may not feel fair but I'd say he should demand she makes the choice.. one or the other, not both   less

Hmm hardly on a parallel with Trump directly seeking to lambast individuals is it.  And then there's the facts behind all this.. there is NO evidence of tampering or fraud in the election, so those Dems engaging in that talk literally ARE holding anti-American values and they are endangering the American democratic process.  So they are wrongdoers and arguably, they should be held accountable for this as it is pretty serious. PS I am not sure if you noticed but that site is a clearly right-wing biased site, and unsurprisingly they made heavy-use of really vague language.. I assumed, (wrongly!) that this was an opportunity to dress up, nicely, or in attire different to our formal, but rather staid clothing. I thought it was a chance to show more of our character and colour... So.. I wore a rather fetching red, pink and blue floral mini-dress! To say I felt foolish was an understatement! Apparently it's was understood that the day was one where people could 'dress down' and wear jeans.. I felt uncomfortable not least because the dress was way too short.. and I had to keep tugging it down to protect my modesty.. all round a seriously bad move to wear that dress on that occasion. How did I rectify it? Well, there was nothing I could do really.. just pretend that this attire was perfectly normal for me and that it 'was' dressing down for me!   less
