Are you crafty? If so, what kind of crafty are you?

I love crafts and am very creative. Unfortunately, I have almost zero talent at any crafts. But I love them nonetheless. I made a spider web Christmas ornament today. It didn't turn out too badly so I am quite pleased.
Perhaps I could aim for the other meaning of the word crafty?

OMG give me tools, paint, glue, and a pile of stuff and I'll be sure to make something.  The tools are the key.  Good tools and supplies=good results. There is a senior center that used to have an entire floor dedicated to metalwork.  I would love to be able to spend time there and start making jewelry.

Not that kind of crafty. Maybe a bit of the clever kind.

Funny you should ask; I’m trying to come up with a plan to fly to the UK to visit you.

    Thanks!
    :)

I'd rather try someone else's thinking for a change. My kind of thinking wears me out.  :)

Well, at the moment that would sure take a lot of ingenuity and cunning, what with the pandemic and all :P

  • My crafts made with paper, sticks or glue always fell apart.  I have more talent with food.  My gingerbread houses are beautiful, and they don't fall apart.  I'm also very good at decorating cakes.  I'm only crafty (the other definition) in my daydreams.

Ahh that's so cool! I am not even good with food, and while I've tried several gingerbread houses, they were all messy and fell apart!

Well you are definitely talented at being self-depreciating. and under-estimating your talents.

I can knit, crochet, embroider and do needlepoint.  My preference is crochet.  A long time ago, I took a woodworking class as the local high school and designed and put together a wooden wagon for my eldest niece.  I've also made a busy board with all kinds of gadgets for one of my nephews.   This post was edited by SpunkySenior at December 6, 2020 9:43 AM MST

That all sounds very impressive to me! I have had at least 4 people try to teach me to knit, all failed! My mother was the most amazing knitter, she was famous for making the most elaborate heirloom shawls and baby clothes. I definitely missed out on the talent there!

My mom was a great knitter, too and she was the one who showed me that and all the other crafty needlework.

Nope, I'm all thumbs. I'm the second clumsiest person in the world.
My creative bent is musical. I wrote my first tune when I was six years old.

But at least you have a creative talent! Who is the first clumsiest?  This post was edited by Adaydreambeliever at December 6, 2020 2:29 PM MST
