Ever push a button and something exploded? Are you an habitual buttonpusher and if so how do you decide whose to push and when? ANY REGRET?

    Literally ... yes.
It's one of my hobbies, actually.
Blowing things up, literally, is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress.

    Figuratively ... I can't remember a situation where I "pushed the button".
But my brother once pushed mine to the point I exploded to violence, when we were kids.
I had to go to counseling - though after talking with the whole family, the counselor agreed my brother needed to stop pushing my buttons.

OKAY Walt you know I can't let that lie as you left it. BLOWING THINGS UP? WHAT THINGS? HOW OFTEN. DO YOU INVITE FOLKS TO WATCH YOUR BLOWUPS?

I exploded into violence ONCE when I was 14. I was furious about something my mother said. Oh I remember. I told the truth and she didn't believe me. I exploded in a RAGE and I went off and pushed my fist through the glass top of the back porch door. Smashed it completely. IT SCARED ME. The fury within me. Miraculously I didn't get a scratch. I vowed to never get that angry again and I never have. I don't dare. Okay. Your turn. When did the blowing up of things begin? Ever blow things up while sleeping? Ever get hurt during one of your blowups? Inquiring minds gotta know these things. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday. Doin' okay I hope? Nowadays, I tend to only blow things up on July 4th.  I spend thousands of dollars on fireworks.  I even have a semi-professional ignition system for lighting them off.

Other times, I take some Tannerite out for shooting.

I started blowing things up back in Jr High School.  I experimented first with things like gasoline and lantern fuel.
And yes, I did get a couple very minor injuries.
Due to my fear of pain, I've always been careful - though admittedly sometimes not careful enough!  lol

I never met anyone who blew things up for kicks Walt! You are my first! I dislike blowups. You might have read this because I've shared it before. When I was a kid we heard a huge explosion in the kitchen. My mom was cooking something in a pot with a vent...a pressure cooker..and the vent stuck and the pressure built! KABOOM! Food was on the ceiling and on the walls. She was pressure cooking chicken in a tomatoey sauce! I never wanted a pressure cooker after that. Too explosive for my taste. Fortunately the kitchen door was shut or the splattered food might have reached the dining room too. It took hours for my folks to clean up that mess. It was disgusting! Can you control explosions or once set to go off is it always a surprise? Thank you for your reply m'dear. This post was edited by RosieG at April 21, 2020 5:18 PM MDT

It's more a surprise when it DOESN'T go off.
Then I wonder if it's a dud, or just taking longer than it should.
Even if it's a dud and doesn't go off at all ... it makes me REALLY nervous until I dump it in a bucket of water.

I've been at a couple Fourth of July shows, where a worker literally had their head blown off because they looked down a tube when a round didn't go off.  So I know enough to know how dangerous a "small" safety infraction can be.

Thankfully, the only thing the crowd saw was the bright flash of the explosion.
Then a bunch of shadows running around, as the workers and medix did their thing ... then the ambulance driving off.
Naturally, "the show must go on" - so it did.
The general public only found out the next day, when the story was printed in the local paper.

Geez Walt. Ya know what? I remember once upon a time when I was about 10 my folks took us (my baby sister was 3 at the time) to THE LOS ANGELES COLISEUM for the 4th of JULY FIREWORKS! Gosh it was exciting to see! A once-in-a-lifetime experience. The sky lit up in so many different configurations. Some were silent some were noisy and each seemed better than the prior one. As I recall it ended with a huge American Flag in the sky. It was awesome. They couldn't start until it got dark so we were up way later than our normal bedtimes but our folks wanted us to see it once! I don't know what went on behind the scenes. I hope no one got hurt. We were allowed sparklers in our neighborhoods and that was always good enough for us. Do they do that any more? I shall ask. Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)

I've heard the latest thing is replacing the fireworks with hundreds of drones, flying in patterns and using their lights to put on a show.

I haven't seen one, yet ... but would like to.

How low do drones fly Walt? Or how high? Could they get caught in electric wires and causes fires or is their internal guidance system flawless? It could be very pretty. I saw drones flying overhead on TV somewhere dispensing the message of SOCIAL DISTANCING. I wonder for those who open up how social distancing can be maintained retained? I wonder where the spiking will go up first? Stupid Florida perhaps? The other stupid reds will be jockeying for position to see which of the stupid were stupidest based on number of infections and DEATHS. I'm gonna ask. Need a lotter to see which stupid state wins the jackpot! Thank you for your reply Walt! :)

If I had done that, I doubt I would be sitting here to answer your question. Think about it.

You think about it. Ever push a button here and what exploded was way away  over there? No way it would affect you physically. Think about it. This post was edited by RosieG at April 20, 2020 11:04 AM MDT
