Have you heard Natalie Cole's cover of one of her dad's big hits?

"When I Fall in Love"

I forgot about it and then heard it again today - - geez - - such wonderful voices in the same family --

like Whitney Houston and Dionne Warwick
like The Pointer Sisters
offhand, I'm not think of other examples; I'm sure there are more examples out there

(I've heard a 'virtual' duet that they did with Natalie and Nat King Cole for this song, too)

It is a good song, yeah.
We'll have to dance at least six feet apart. Ha! :)

She has a beautiful voice.  It surprises me she never became more famous on her own.

You're so right, SpunkySenior! Yeah, her voice is a voice I could listen to for forever. :)

I think she had a drug addiction problem which may have derailed her career.  Unfortunate.

    Wow - - I had no idea!

And, SpunkySenior -- I just looked her up. I had no idea she had died in 2015. That really saddens me -- the fact that I thought she was still alive -- and, all the while enjoying listening to her voice, the fact that I had no idea she had died.
But she certainly bettered my life with her sharing her voice.
Such a great voice to me. :) :)

I had forgotten that she died.  I was very sad.

    Yeah, me, too.
I'm still sad thinking about it. I only knew today, I guess. Or, I had forgotten about her death, too.

But, the great thing, what a gift she gave to all of us!
    :)

I feel the same way about her as I did about Whitney Houston - two great singers who left us far too early.

Yes, it's great of course. But I like her father's version best.  It reminds me of my childhood.

    Hi, CallMeIshmael!!
    :)
    :)

I only now just spotted your answer, sorry! When I ask questions, I often don't get alerts for some reason. I get alerts on other things but sometimes no alerts on the questions I post. Others have tried to help me on that but it still happens, ha!

Nat King Cole - - yeah, no voice like his ever! So smooth! :)
