Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» We often think "if only I decided otherwise my life would have been so much better". HOW DO YOU KNOW THE "IF ONLY" wouldn't have been worse?
I try not to think "what if" because there's no way to know what would have happened had I made different choices. In the grand scheme of things, my life has been pretty good. Had I made different choices, it could have been considerably worse.
I will share with you my really ONE BIG CONSTANT FOREVER WHAT IF. For your eyes only. Our son had a wondrous fair fiancee once upon a time. WE ADORED HER. For reasons that won't be revealed here it didn't work out. I WHAT IF all the time about what life would have been like with her still in ours. I can't help it. She gave me a fridge magnet I treasure. "Friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you know they are always there". She gave me a long-sleeve bluegray (my favorite color) top that said "A CUP HALF FULL" on the front and on the back a drawing of a cup that was half full. She stood up to me one day. I kept shooing her out of the kitchen after dinners. She wanted to help me clean up. She finally had it with me and put her foot down. If I weren't in love with her already that would have nailed it. We will always love her and miss her. Life deals you cards and you don't always get to play them the way you want. Thank you for your reply L and Happy Monday! :)
