I have a bathtub, but I only shower. When I redid my bathroom, I put in a new tub, but it isn't as high as the old one and when it's full, I am not completely submerged like I was. As a result, I no longer enjoy relaxing in a warm tub because too much of me is not under water.
This residence has a walk-in bathtub. I had it installed for my dad when he was having trouble using the other shower (pain from cancer). He never got the chance to use it, and I prefer showers.
You can add a shower to a walk-in tub. When I renovated I thought about putting a walk-in tub in the back bathroom but then I learned that a bathtub can easily be converted to a walk-in shower by cutting a step-through on the side of the tub. There is a vinyl product to use to finish the cut to make it look nice. I decided that, along with a hand shower and seat should be fine for us as we age.
I have two full baths with tub/showers. I was thinking about a walk-in tub when I remodeled but didn't go there. Now I learned about converting tub to walk-in shower and will do that when we need to.
Baby! I can drop by and clean it for you! We should arrange a schedule! How does five times a week sound to you? Imagine having me there to draw your bath and scrub your back. Heck, why would I even have to leave? Put me up in your spare room, and I can be there 24/7 to wait on you hand and foot. Speaking of which, I have great technique for foot massages, toesies are my specialty. (All free of charge, of course.)
The reason I didn't have walk-in tiled showers when I renovated because I hate cleaning shower floors. To me, keeping the tub clean is a breeze. Seriously....spray on professional Scrubbing bubbles, waits five minutes and wipe it off. Shower floors are always grungy it seems. Anyway, perspective is everything. :)
