Where is the money to tide them over going to come from? The government? It can't tide people over forever because it will run out of money at some point. If we stay in this shutdown for an indefinite period of time, even more people will file for unemployment. The greater the number unemployed, there will be even fewer taxes that will go to fund the government.

What is the answer? Raise taxes? How can raising taxes help if we aren't working to pay them? Tax the rich? If you take 100% of the money from those making a million or more a year, that would only be enough money to cover a quarter of national debt for one year. So what's the answer?
