Excellent m2c. I thought of you and how you would handle it in your company. What you are doing seems logical under the circumstances. Until you see the results it's a very good start. Thank goodness there is no shortage of Chlorox. At least I haven't seen any here in Hemet. Also Lysol. If we are consistent in our use of these things it certainly can't hurt and probably will help. You know what's funny? How quickly even us old folks can adapt to the "new". We went out yesterday and it seemed "normal" to me. I have already adapted apparently to the "new normal". Not too bad for 82. Hope you and your family are doing well under the circumstances. How long this phase will be beats me. Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Friday to thee and thine! :)
When it first broke out Clorox was empty in the stores bit that has settled now. I am sure if cases start up they will shut us down quickly. But all we can do is be as safe as well can be and continue living our lives.
Exactly! We always have had a bottle of Chlorox on hand. We now have two. What we are using and a backup. There's just the two of us though m2c. What happens with a family of five or more? Thank you for your reply m'dear. STAY SAFE! :)
I don't know if that means just their Kroger brand, or all their stores (under various names).
I can say I haven't seen much change in the local Fred Meyer stores. (which is a Kroger brand) They put some distance guides on the floor, and have a person cleaning the cart handles. But they don't clean the baskets. They wipe down the checkout conveyors more often. That's it.
From what I can see, masks aren't required since not all employees wear them. Nor are gloves (which they would have to change after each customer).
You do live in Washington State, right? I'm shocked. Everyone in Hemet at least WEARS MASKS AND GLOVES ALL THE TIME WHEN OUT. I see disinfecting going on everywhere all the time and we have definite directions by arrows on the floor which way to shop. AND there are six-foot-long spaces on the floor everywhere we go so we know where to stand. We're very impressed by the stores locally. We shop at WALMART WINCO and sometimes SPROUTS! All of them are doing the same exact thing. It takes a lot longer to shop Walt. If someone is in front of the shelf I seek I have to stand back SIX FEET and wait till they move forward before I can move in and look. The folks here are being very courteous and respectful and waiting their turns. No one is thrilled with it but it is uniform and balanced. Since "it" seemed to start in your state I'm gobstomped about the apparent lack of continuation of extremely consistent actions. Thank you for your reply! :)
I have seen on social media that some stores are putting up signs, telling people NOT to wear gloves in the store. It sounds odd, but makes sense. The reasoning is that people are not changing gloves (as they should), so if you pick up the virus on your gloves in one store ... you are transporting the virus to another store. The signs DO encourage people to wash their hands between stores, instead.
A couple local stores actually put up hand sanitizer stations at the entrance, and ask people to sanitize their hands upon entry.
I keep one of those travel-size hand sanitizers in my vehicle, and use it before/after each visit.
