Ever do anything at all big or small to emulate/pay homage to someone whom you admired?

Barbra Streisand allegedly loved coffee ice cream. I worked with a gal who adored her(her name was Fran) and switched to eating coffee ice cream. Said it made her feel connected to Barbra when she did.

Me? The poet e. e. cummings always wrote in lower caps. When I was a secretary and typed letters for my boss I switched from signing them /RON at the bottom to /ron. It didn't last long but when I did it I felt a connection to e.e. It was my "tip of the hat" to him.  For some unknown reason doing that ANNOYED a co-worker. He said it was a silly thing to do since e.e. would never know about it. He missed the point entirely.

What "silly" thing have you ever done that just gave you pleasure in the doing? Didja get criticized for it?
