Any of you remember Barbara Jordan? Of all the intelligent accomplished dynamic women of color in politics she stands out for me. You?

For one thing she had a magnificent voice. You know the great voice of James Earl Jones? I think Barbara Jordan was his female counterpart voice wise. In all the talk about Biden being "advised" to select a black woman as his veep I thought of her. I have nothing against the women allegedly being considered for that job. I think they're all splendid. But to me Barbara was really really special. She passed away relatively young from pneumonia I think. A loss for our country.

He should choose an Asian-American female combat veteran. You know who.

Tammy Duckworth! I saw/heard her on some cable TV show a couple of days ago. You know that woman is AWESOME! I'm embarrassed to tell you I did not even think of her. I think the idea or plan or scam behind this is to secure the black vote. Isn't everything always based on political opportunism R? To say she has given all she has to her country in battle is a gross understatement. I don't know if the Asian-American vote is as critical or how Biden is perceived by that community. It's a crapshoot I think. It would be great if THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB were chosen. Period. Thank you for reminding me of what I should not have forgotten. She said she had a two year old and a five year old so maybe she wouldn't even consider accepting if that job were offered. Happy Sunday m'dear! :)

Her service record and her moderate poltics might - just might - encourage some bipartisanship, something sadly lacking in Weltpolitick for too long.
Sanders' biggest shortcoming, apart from his advanced age, was his extremism. Republicans simply would NOT work with him. They're unlikely to work with Joe, he's too closely associated with Obama, a man they detested. They could work with Tammy.

Point made and well taken. Bernie is too extreme for me R and I'm a progressive liberal Dem. The people LOVED President Obama. Still do as far as I know. From your lips but of course it would require Joe to pick her. She gave two legs for her country already. Maybe that's all the flesh she is willing to give. I think politics sucks the lifeblood out of those who TRY to do the right thing. It energizes those who are there to screw the people. They get fatter and richer and the good folks get grayer more wrinkled and skinnier. Thank you for your reply R! :)
