I can't imagine fighting in a war and not being changed by it. The person you were/used to be is gone. The new you carries on. I wonder?

How long does it take before we know who the "new" you is? Think that you is a "better" person for having experienced a war...more than he/she was before? Or does fighting in a war somehow diminish us, chip away at us, leaving us less than we used to be?

Our current "war" is a virus. Some fights wars involving booze or drugs or promiscuity or or or or or. Is everyone everyone fighting in some kind of war? Are we all battle-weary?

I guess we will find out.
