This is something I never understood. Voter fraud is likely not affecting election outcomes but at the same time it is something that looks really bad. The US is a rich country with the infrastructure to easily stop dead people from casting votes and illegals from doing that too. So I say just stop it and move on. I read that the turkish mall shooter voted many times when not allowed to vote and there is a law in his state to not allow officials to verify if someone is a citizen. To me that seems to go backwards. That is bad and that makes people not trust the election. There is nowhere else in the word that I know that a person can just say they are eligible to vote and they can vote even if dead. The poorest villiage in a third world country does not allow this, but a major city in a rich country does. So why not just fix? Give everyone ID if they are eligible to vote and do not let people vote otherwise and make sure dead people are removed from the list of who can vote. All the infrastructure is already existing so there is no excuse. The message today is that voter fraud is very easy and that is the wrong message.
