.
Why, indeed?
I suppose because they want the job. I'm far from a fan of Trump, but I can understand why he'd want to know what's there... and him requiring it doesn't by default mean it will be released to the public. Just that he won't be hit with surprises if it does.
Furthermore, I find all demands by any current or forthcoming presidential administration to vet financials devoid of all value until they put an end to, or at the very least mention the various federal workers currently arrears on their taxes.
You do know that when you apply for a job the get to take a look at your credit files? You, on the other hand, don't get to have a look at theirs.
You wouldn't vote for Trump anyhow so it makes no difference.
And that's a big number from what I've heard . . .

Considering how many work for the very agency tasked with prosecuting such crimes, any number is too great. We hear a lot of politicians talk smack about the finances of other politicians and paying their fair share, rarely do they mention the number of govt. employees currently shirking their tax-burden.
Thanks :)
I disagree again with thee. So what, right? Trump has some nerve requiring financial disclosure of ANYONE when he is too cowardly to disclose his tax returns. It has zero to do with various federal workers currently in arrears on their taxes. That has nothing to do with anything except avoiding answering the question I asked FNR.
. Thank you for your reply.
I get that people are miffed about it, I even understand why, it just isn't a big deal to me personally. Personal financial disclosure, that is, isn't something I would consider as a must for voting on a candidate.
The financials of major campaign contributors, for that I might lift an eyebrow.
The financials issue to me is similar to people who complain about Facebook's tracking policies and political inclinations, yet still agree to their terms of service to have an account with them, you know? Everyone has a choice to make.
