What does "Sorry for the bottom deleting" mean?

I saw "Sorry for the bum deleting" in someone else's post and I just wondered whose ass was deleted and why.

      In American English, unlike British English, the word ‘bum’ does not mean derrière, it means vagabond or hobo or tramp. Wow, that explanation doesn’t help at all, does it?  Lol. 

      I saw the same post, and I don’t understand it either, even though it’s written by a fellow American.
