Yes. They are undeniably 'less strong' than they were before. Those who got killed in the war are even weaker than that.
The difference lies in how we interpret these facts.
I conclude that war wastes a lot of strength. I assume the conclusion of the person you are talking about is that war is a kind of 'natural selection' that gets rid of the weakest.

No, I don't agree with that statement. The strongest person, when exposed to the horrors of war often enough, will be more likely to break. It doesn't make them weak - it makes them human. PTSD is not a joke and someone who has had five draft deferments should be ashamed of himself for commenting about it. Send him over to Syria for four or five tours and let's see how strong he is. Then again, maybe he isn't all that human.
So easy to run off at the mouth! No human being is equipped to deal with the horrors of war. I have several family members with ptsd. These individuals, any individual suffering from such a condition, but especially a war vet deserves deep compassion, sympathy, and understanding.
Compassion, sympathy, understanding. Trump has none of those qualities. He does have a lot of gall though. The Pol with gall. That's the Donald to a T. Sadly. How is that treated Autumn? Can ptsd ever be cured or only managed? Condolences to those who suffer with it. Thank you for your reply! :)
I know you posed this question to Autumn, but from what I understand from several of my military bddies, PTSD is only managed. You can't ever unsee what causes it.
You are always welcome to join in on any of my question threads Spunky. That was what I thought. Just like Diabetes or other diseases. Once you have it you learn to live with it the best way you can. Thank you for your reply Spunky and Happy Thursday! :)
I happen to know that ptsd is treatable, though not curable. I did want to comment that anyone with severe trauma as in a rape victim deserves special consideration. it's a harsh world, and I for one try not to be a part of the problem. take care.

Thank you for your reply m'dear. I know there are some diseases that cannot be CURED but can be managed. You just learn to live with it the best way you can and hopefully it doesn't become unbearable. Happy Thursday Autumn. I think that must be a very hard thing to learn to live with though. Life is hard enough as it is. Being burdened with an additional hardship doesn't seem fair.
