Entropy by definition is one-directional ... things falling apart.
But now you have me wondering how that jives with (say) the creation of new planets or suns. Is what appears to be creation merely a step along the way to destruction? (because those planets/suns will eventually be destroyed) Maybe because it's "more efficient" to destroy a single planet/sun, than uncountable number of space dust? And what about the creation of this universe? Was that just entropy acting on whatever existed before the "big bang"? Hmmmm.
Ever know someone with a green thumb Walt who could perform miracles with plants? Bring one back that you thought was dead? Wouldn't that be reversing entropy? About the creation of the universe I got into an almost loop with someone when I asked what existed before the big bang. Said person told me a collapsed prior universe or something. I asked what existed before that and I got no reply. Some existence of things began at some time in the past. I'm unable to comprehend a nothing existing before that. Are you too or is it easy for you? Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday to thee and thine m'dear! :)

The plant example would be an example of an outside force acting against natural entropy.
Another example would be a car, sitting and rusting away. Then somebody comes and restores it. If they don't maintain the car, entropy will once more start the process of breaking it down.
I try not to think too much about what existed prior to our universe. It's difficult enough to think about now - what exists that our universe is expanding into. lol
What exists now is based on what we had when we started. What decided the ingredients to go into that "cake" we have now? Where did those ingredients come from? The concept of creating something from nothing is too hard to understand for me. Now something into nothing? That's easier to grasp. Ever start a noel in the middle? Don't you want to start at the beginning so you can understand why things are progressing as they are and why the end is inevitable? Like a room full of mirrors. Endless visions all manipulated by looking into a succession of mirrors. A trick of the eye? SIGH. Thank you for your reply Walt! Any entropy doesn't exist in a vacuum. Isn't it always affected by its surrounding in one way ot another. In fact would entrophy exist in a vacuum? I shall ask. :)
