“Jerk” wasn’t the first word that came to my mind upon hearing this; more along the lines of “a-hole”. I cannot believe how arrogant some people are. They are so pompous that they can’t admit that they might be wrong. Instead, they “take down” anyone who might embarrass them. When arrogance thrives, common sense goes out the window.
“No, a governor is not the superordinate of mayors or elected officials of the municipality’s in his/her state. They set their own policies and budgets. The governor is only to guide, supervise, and coordinate the works of city/municipal and regency governments. Often, the mayor of a major city and the Governor may be at odds on policy, where the Governor will say one thing and the mayor will say another. Most try to maintain some kind of healthy relationship, since both need the other’s help to make things happen, but it doesn’t always happen.”
