Ancestors of the Ochs family, which owns the New York Times, lived in Mississippi and owned slaves. Didja know?

Bertha Levy Ochs, mother of Adolph Ochs, was a Confederate supporter, three members of her family fought for secession, and before she died in 1908, she requested that a Confederate flag be draped over her casket.

    I believe everyone who follows their ancestry back far enough will find someone who had slaves or supported slavery.
