I know I got troubles when spell check can't even give me a suggestion to what I am trying to spell.

It's crazy, isn't it?  Especially if you know you once had the skill. This post was edited by PeaPod is just popping by at October 11, 2016 9:48 AM MDT

Hahahaha.   I doubt you are alone.  Your spelling is stellar next to some of the stuff I have seen out there.

Nah. I usually try to spell it on my own first. If there's anything that prevents me, it's just my brain, hehe.

I definitely rely on it because it's always there.  I now fear turning it off.

Calculators are more of a weakness for me. I can't Math... I could if I tried, but will I? Will I?

I'm lucky there.  I seem to have retained a lot of my math skills in my head.

Remember when they first came out with PDA's?  Before I ever used one to store numbers I could remember every phone number I had dialed more than three times...going all the way back to childhood. Now I'm LUCKY if I can remember my own home phone number.

Point is, if you rely on technology for the basics, you will become dependent on it.  I use spellcheck, but only as a way of prompting me to proofread my work.

My friends from high school and I were just talking about how we used to know, and still know, the phone numbers we had back then.  All that was memorized.  Now if you were to ask me what the phone numbers are of any one close to me, guess what?  I better have my cell phone on me to check.  That is freaking sad.

The only thing I will say is that I still proof read myself, even if I am catching another mistake after I hit "Send" or "Post Reply".

I wish I had the second part of that as an excuse.  At least I would be happy as I am screwing up my spelling.

That would be true.  The problem is actually remembering how to spell the word again.
