Someone said hyphenates are divisive. HOW? I'm ARMENIAN AMERICAN. Some are POLISH AMERICANS or GERMAN AMERICANS. Aren't they DESCRIPTIVE?

How does DESCRIPTIVE become DIVISIVE? By intention of course. How else?
