Oh my GAWD Walt! YOU SAW BUCKAROO BANZAI? Me too. Also my "second son" OLD SCHOOL who used to be here but was BANISHED. As far as I knew Old School and I were the ONLY ones in the entire universe who ever even HEARD of that movie much less saw it! Sheesh. Small world. You did see it right? Thank you for your reply Wow! Who knew? Wasn't it a crock? Buckaroo was all things to all people. Multi talented multi intelligent multi hilarious. John Lithgow was in it as I recall. Geez. Thanks for your nifty answer. Do you mean the TIME SPACE CONTINUUM when you say the 4th dimension is time or were you simply being facetious?

Yes ... John Lithgow - one of the bad aliens, or their leader. I think. Also Jeff Goldblum and Christopher Lloyd. Just seeing Jeff Goldblum dressed as a cowboy, now is hilarious to me.
I saw it in the theater ... I also saw it a couple months ago on COMET streaming channel. I didn't recall it being so hokey. lol
I was being facetious. Some people refer to time as the 4th Dimension, without really understanding what they are saying. They think it refers to the normal passage of time. So I was making fun of those types.
Oh. Okay m'dear. You were being facetious. I wish I could get that when people are. Sometimes I do sometimes I don't and I never know why. Oh well I guess there are worse things I could be saddled with than having a DEFAULT MODE of VERY SERIOUS! I have no idea what podcasts are or live streaming. I haven't investigated it but it seems it is now overtaking everything. No my friend I'm not expecting you to educate me about that. I will GOOGLE it when I'm ready which may be never. But here's the thing. I keep getting further/farther behind with what's going on. I'm so out of my element when it comes to stuff like that. I have no desire to be conversant with that stuff. Between you and me I think the reason is I don't understand it and it's frustrating. Between you and me. I retired early because at my work they introduced a brand new computer system and I just couldn't get it. I was embarrassed every time I had to call the guy who installed it. The two others gals had no problem with it but we had different parts of the system that applied to us so my part had nothing to do with them. I am not used to feeling stupid Walt but I sure did and I still do. I just avoid all of that. I mean we buy a new TV and Jim has to program it and has his friend Alan work with him on it. In my day you just plugged it in and VOILA! You have to program the REMOTE CONTROL! For cryin' out loud WHY? Things used to be simple. I am a simple gal. Everything is way too complicated in my opinion. I'd like to know WHY? . I'm really protected here in my little space. I can deal with it. What's out there? Deal with it? MOI? Not so much. Thank you for your reply! Growing old isn't for wimps and it sure as he** beats the alternative. But there is a price to pay for it as I am finding out. :(

Just think of podcasts and live streaming as the new TV programming. Live streaming means it's live ... at least, it used to. A podcast can be live or recorded.
Do you have to "subscribe" to them Walt? Like you have to pay extra for HBO? Also live like most programs are...in real time? Like news programs and sports? Do you watch podcasts or live stream? Also so you follow other people's BLOGS? Just wondering. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday to thee and thine! :)
I used to follow a blog, that was an alternative to the local newspaper. But it got too biased rather than just reporting, like the paper was. So I stopped following it. Most of their other followers must have also, as last time I checked it was no longer around.
Some "channels" you have to subscribe to ... some ask you to, but you don't have to ... others don't ask, but you can still contribute if you want. I don't follow or watch any, so I just know what I hear from those that do. (Mainly, my friends' kids.)
Thank you for your informative and thoughtful reply Walt. Are you a Facebook fan? Early on our son who joined invited us to join. I dunno. Chatting every day with everyone all the time getting minute by minutes details of everyone's life just doesn't have any appeal to me. We talk on the phone from time to time. My sis and I email each other a couple of times a week. She gives me info she thinks will interest me and I do likewise. I mean if you are on the same place everyday spilling your guts about hair appointments and cooking classes and gyms and whatevering I can't think of any that is more deadly dull. Like those Christmas BRAG letters some people send about all the great they experienced during the year with pictures. AARRGGHH! Not my cuppa tea. Is it yours?
I'm on Facebook - but my family and friends aren't the types that have to post those minute-to-minute updates. Some post daily, but most only post when they have some "big" news.
Physical space-time contains 4 dimensions - length, width, depth and time. However, according to string theory, there could be as many as 10. {Some versions of string theory propose even more dimensions} We can only see the 4 “standard” dimensions.
ARe you a fan of String Theory Shuhak? Thank you for your reply. Sometimes I wonder about "knowing". Ever "know" something you couldn't possibly and it turns out you were right? Instinct? Simple logic? Hooking up the Universal Conscience? Sometimes it's unsettling when you can't figure out why you know or knew. Isn't it? :)
Hahahahahaha! That's rich. Me too neither but it is a "beautiful" theory or so I've read. You know what I can't comprehend? Quantum Entanglement. How can something be "CONNECTED" to something else a bazillion miles away? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? Gadzooks! Thank you for your reply Shuhak. I"ve read and own about a dozen or more books on quantum physics because you know the entire field fascinates me. They are written for lay people and I expect folks with background in science or math understand ALL OF IT. I don't but I understand enoUgh to make it worth my while reading it. Thank you for your reply! :)

There is the possibility of a infinite number of dimensions, but we are built to perceive only three spatial dimensions and one time dimension - and that only in one direction.
I'm pretty sure I told you about the Scientific American issue of May 2003 the cover of which is
"Infinite Earths in PARALLEL UNIVERSES Really Exist". Way back then. We can't know what we don't know or haven't been able to access. Doesn't mean we never will. There is always hope. It would solve all the "mysteries" because the answers to our questions could all be there waiting for us to notice. Will we one day? Could be. Why not? Thank you for your reply R. I think QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT is spooky. It is so fascianting though. :)
