Everyone knows being rich doesn't mean you are smart. Don't we all KNOW the rich pay others to do for them and they take the credit?.

Ever have a boss/supervisor take credit for the work or creativity that was entirely yours?

They do stuff like that because they can. Doesn't make 'em smart. Makes them lazy and liars.

People assume wealth equals intelligence.  After all, wealth can afford education.  And one had to be “smart“ to become wealthy in the first place… right?

Brains + hard work = wealth

Many times that equation is true.  Although sometimes people have wealth thrust upon them (inheritance, lottery).  No matter how it’s acquired, wealth has an effect on people.  It can give them a false since of pride.  People who are wealthy tend to feel superior; that they are somehow better than those “beneath” them (status).  They can feel that just because they have wealth, they’re owed certain “considerations”.  Wealth can take away satisfaction.  To those who aren’t wealthy, the wealthy seem to have everything they could ever want or need.  However, the opposite is usually true.  Wealth tends to make one want more - more things, more money.   This is especially true for those who’ve had wealth thrust upon them.

Clearly wealth buys entry into universities. Wealth buys test takers. That pumpkina** paid someone to take the SAT test to "get into" a university is no surprise. The wealthy who are serving jail time for paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to fake their children's way into USC or other "prestigious" schools is standard issue typical ordinary. The wealthy believe they are DUE whatever they can buy and having that gives them prestige and superiority. All it does is show us that crooks and corruption are easier attained if ya got a lotta money. The kids of those celebrities who posed for the fake pictures to "prove" they were athletes are guilty as charged. The parents said the kids knew nothing about it. Really? Posing for photos in canoes with paddles to get a canoe scholarship and they never saw a canoe in the lives before the photo ops and they didn't KNOW? Then the kids are way too stupid to go to a university in the first place. The kids drink from a poisoned well from the moment they're born. Sure parents will do whatever they can to help their kids but LIE STEAL CHEAT? Not in the used to be but today it is everyone's cuppa tea. Bah humbug and oy vey! Thank you for your reply Shuhak and Happy Monday. The kids are ruined for life. Good job and kudos to the spoiled selfish seedy greedy needy "superior" parents. Sheesh! :( This post was edited by RosieG at August 25, 2020 10:58 AM MDT

It's almost impossible to become a billionaire without exploiting somebody on the way. There is only one exception that I'm aware of, and she's no longer a billionaire - J K Rowling.

Gave quite a lot of it away, and pays the top UK tax rate (45%) by choice - she feels obligated due to the fact that the welfare state was all that stood between her and destitution, for both herself and her daughter, when she was a penniless single mother.

I did not know that R. I JUST LOVE THAT WOMAN! I mean I don't know her but as you describe her what's not to love? She has conscious and is not always wanting more more more more more. She feels a duty to help those who have less having been there herself. Thank you for that info R. I appreciate it. I wonder how much does one need to live a lavish lifestyle? I think those who covet more and more and more must also have problems in other areas of life. We need to know when we have enough to "live the good life". It varies a lot depending on lots of things. Happy MONDAY to you and yours and STAY SAFE! :)

Not that I expect a response as I know you better than you think I do, but the ultimate logical conclusion of this is that all wealthy people are lazy, worthless liars who don't deserve what they have. It's not possible to become wealthy via hard, smart work and honest endeavor. Therefore, the government would be justified in seizing all individual wealth and forcing all citizens to live at the same standard in a socialist, totalitarian state. You'd love that, wouldn't you? How did that work out in places like Cuba and Russia? Be careful what you wish for.
