Speaking only for myself here. If someone told me not to trust anything or anyone but him or her, I would automatically be suspicious. In most cases for me, trust is not automatic. It is earned.
Trustworthy people usually don’t need to proclaim their ability to be trusted. Instead, they demonstrate their reliability through actions, day in, and day out.
