How you're raised is your "norm". You don't know better If you think women aren't men's equals/are "less than". You accept it. Should you?

In some societies men are served first and women eat later. They need permission of the men to do some things. They are not allowed by the men to do other things. They are controlled by and ruled by the men in their lives. It is the way they were raised and the way they will raise their daughters and their daughters will raise their daughters. And so on. Promulgating mistreatment of women can be normal in some families and some societies. It is their culture we are told and we dare not and ought not criticize it. We like to think mistreatment of women by men does not exist in America but we would be wrong. Accepting disrespect and mistreatment as 'normal' and no big deal  is not unusual for some women. Having it be defended by women is very sad though.
