It was a fluke. It happened so fast, but based on my bruised toe, I must have caught it on the curb as I crossed the street and was propelled hard enough to slam me to the pavement and I landed on my outstretched arms.
Wow! I broke my wrists in a motorcycle accident once, and believe me, I was a huge baby about it. Do you have both arms in casts? How do you do things?
It's taken a while to be able to do anything. I spent 8 days in hospital, 23 days in a care facility and I've been home for a week with some outside help. I have my left arm in a sling and a brace on my right wrist. It's a humbling experience to be depend on caregivers for your most personal needs.
About 7 years ago I fell and tore 70% of my right rotator cuff on my shoulder along with a broken leg. I went to physical therapy close to a year. Since I am already disabled on one side, the other side took longer to heal
That must have been difficult for you. It does help me realize that I will get through this.

About 21 yr ago I was in a car wreck. I crushed 3 vertibre in my neck. One of my ear lobes was nearly torn off. While 3 month preg. They did emergency surgery. Fused the vertibrae back and implanted a steel rod in my neck. (I am fine, I can do anything I want...walk, run, drive, carry things, even ride amusement park rides) Reattached my earlobe. I had excellent doctors. My scars are barely noticeable. In fact to tell someone which ear it was I usually have to feel my lobe. I had to wear a neck brace for 2 months. A little physical therapy.
Baby was uneffected. She is now 22 yrs old with her own babies.
Hope you are starting to feel better. The main thing is never quit.

Broke my left ankle many years ago. Was in a hard cast from toes to knee. After 6 weeks, the cast came off and I was completely fine - didn't even need physical therapy.
