Why does giggling feel so good to the giggler? You keep breaking out in laughter over something too funny. Do you too?

Laughter feels good because laughing releases endorphins in the brain.   Endorphins, also known as the “feel good” hormones, help create feelings of euphoria and general well-being.  Laughter also decreases cortisol (the stress hormone).  Laughter can also decrease the sensation of pain (much like morphine or oxytocin).   One might say that giggling and laughter give one a “high”.

    I love to laugh!!

Me too Shuhak. It's among my most favorite activities. Laughing or giggling. Sometimes whatever it was tickles me so much I keep giggling for quite awhile. I guess I have a funny bone that loves to be tickled. Sometimes out of the blue someone will say something unspectacular but it hits me hard and I can't help giggling. It's a bonus of going out there every day and being exposed to whatever comes your way. Thank you for your reply! :)
