It NEVER is the title that deserves respect it is ALWAYS the person who holds it. Titles are labels. Why pretend elsewise otherwise?

"The office/title deserves respect". Seriously? Who sez? The sleazeball dipstick holder of said title?

    There are positions that deserve respect reguardless of who is in those positions. 

    I must be respectful to my boss because it is the boss. A teacher also deserves respect because of their position. Police/Fire fighters/Military/Doc/etc all deserve respect for their positions.   Even if as a person they may not.
