No, it's because he doesn't care about anyone but himself.  he will get the vaccine first.  For some reason they consider him "essential".

I think his reasons  are a little  more dieabolical  then him just doing it because he thinks he is safe so he dosen't care. Maybe he figures the longer the coronvirse stays in the WH the better the chances of the Biden team catching  it. Or maybe he figures it will make him look weak  if his staff show fear of the viris and get the shot. Or maybe he blames all the people around him for his election lose so he wants to see them and  their friends and familly suffer. Cheers!

Or he's trying to show a virtuous side by claiming they have no special case merely by being WH staff, to make him look good?

He is known to think illness a sign of some sort of moral weakness, as if it's a deliberate choice.
