I have a great idea. Instead of determining who gets the vaccine first, let's determine who gets it last or not at all.

Anyone attending a large gathering without a mask will be ID checked and placed on the no vaccine list. Frat parties, church gatherings, trump rallies/protests/riots, white house Christmas parties etc will be great places to start.

Considering how organized the government was about distribution of PPE, testing swabs, testing kits and Covid in general, I can see this becoming a real clusterfrack.

People also have to remember that NY will get about 150,000 doses from Pfizer.  Since each person needs two doses, that only vaccinates 75,000 people at first.  There are at least that many front line, essential workers before they even get to the nursing homes.

Yeah, I talked about that with my daughter. If they are shipped by population, our entire county will only get about 4500 doses. Not even close.

True, but you have to remember that Moderna will also be approved soon and that will add to it, but I think that it will take a while once the initial supply is shipped out before the next batch is ready.  I don't know how true this is, but supposedly Pfizer offered Trump an additional 150,000 doses but he rejected the offer so Pfizer sold it to other countries. I deleted the old post about the link to the NY Times so as not to confuse.  I went onto the Times site and looked it up.  Try this link

Hospital staff were getting it here today.

After health-care workers and elderly it should be opened up for anyone else who wants to get it.
