I started preparing myself financially for aging when I was probably in my thirties. I have never prepared for death.

I'm going to say probably 4 or 5 years old. I was close to my grandma at that age, and she passed away in my parent's house in the bed we had her in, as she was terminally ill, it was a sad time. I've also had many I know and love pass away. I often think of it even now. We never know when our time is and it's only natural to fear the unknown. No matter what we believe, we don't know how dying is and feels til it's our time. My mom also passed away in 2013 and I was right by her in the room, as it happened. I've always known and heard ones to look and be at peace after they pass though.

I guess today dying is on my mind.  A pastor who ministered at a place I used to volunteer at, his wife passed away suddenly.  She was talking on the phone when she suddenly stopped talking and that was it.  I only recently discovered her death on the ministry's web site. I am at a loss for words. Her daughter is only 6 years old.

Are you referring to aging and death in general, or to one’s own aging and death?  If it’s the latter, it has not yet been of major concern to me.

    Oh. I didn't get that.

I'm not terribly concerned about my own death, more worried about that of those I care about.
