Are there any changes/adjustments in the way you express yourself today versus how you used to express yourself before?

If you have changed how you verbally interact with others do you remember what the catalyst might have been that caused the change?

I still speak my mind, but now that I'm older, I try to do it in a more diplomatic way.  Of course, there always those time when I'm dealing with someone who's thick as a brick and revert to my old self. :)

What I've seen in passing is always sharp in terms of content but delivered in a polite succinct way. You are economical with the words you use. Me? SIGH. I WISH. Thank you for your reply L. If think if anything I'm more open more honest more truthful. I figger I'm 83 and I'm still here so whatever and however and for however long I shall be me. In my entirety! With few curbs. What are they going to do? Shoot me? Grind me up and feed me to the pigs? I think not. And if they do so what?:) This post was edited by RosieG at January 4, 2021 9:54 AM MST

LOL ... you've reached the age where you can hit people with your cane (when you get one) and no one will have anything to say about it. :)

I know. I get away with murder at this age. I say whatever I want and no one ever gets angry! I'm just another dotty old dame to them. Harmless. To be tolerated and ignored but never to be taken seriously. That is my ace in the hole! I got 'em! Thank you for your reply L and Happy Thursday to thee and thine. So is the worst of your weather over and done with? :)

Thanks sweetie and right backatacha. Our temps starting with today 104 105 104 103 100 94 02 90. Also a wildfire in San Bernardino in Lytle Creek burned 500 acres, threaten 600 structures and caused 1000 folks to evacuate. So it's our turn then I guess.  Now all we need to top the cake is THE BIG ONE earthquake we've been promised was due us for years. :( This post was edited by RosieG at August 26, 2021 6:18 AM MDT

We've had a week of very warm temps and high humidity, but nothing like you.  Where are all those evacuees going?  That's a lot of people displaced.  Let's hope there's no earthquake - that's all you need!

I think they mostly stay with family/friends. They're used to the possibility so they probably all have PLAN B at hand. Thank you for your reply! :)

That's a lot of people to have to find a place to live.  Terrible.

Sadly it's just the beginning. Tip of the iceberg. Also in southern California we get the SANTA ANA winds which when they hit during fire season make things a whole lot worse. Well not to worry now before. Wait and worry during and after. My motto now that I just though up this minit. We'll see how it works out! Thank you for your reply L! :)

Do you have somewhere to go if you have to evacuate?

Nope. Well Jim's best friend Alan would probably take us in but all our relatives live in other states. We're on our own alone here. A few years ago I felt ABANDONED but then I thought "what the he**" and got over it! We also have VERY GOOD NEIGHBORS. Bob and Fran across the street in particular. Fingers crossed we will never have to abandon our house which we rent! But it's home and has been for many years! Thank you for your reply L! :) And your concern! ((hugs))

If the fire comes down your way, your neighbor is not going to be much help.  Good luck!

We are on flat land with no vegetation. A tree here and there. I doubt we would ever face fire here. Thank you for your reply L! :)
